Our courses take place from 10:00 to 13:00 Exception: Little skiers who are not yet able to ski independently on blue slopes (beginners) have ski lessons from 10:00 to 12:00. After consultation or in case of high demand, we also offer courses in the afternoon.

You can register using the registration form on the website, by e-mail, by phone or in person at the office.

How long in advance do I need to book a course?

You can book online up to two calendar days before the course. Generally speaking, you can still register on-site in the ski school office early in the morning before the course begins. However with bookings at short notice, we cannot guarantee than an instructor or suitable group will be available at the desired time. Especially during holiday seasons, you may encounter waiting periods. Therefore, we recommend that you make a booking as soon as possible.

When do I need to pay for the course?

Payment should be made in the ski school office before the start of the course. We encourage you to pay the day before to be able to start your day of ski lessons stress-free.

Can I rent equipment at the school?

Yes, we have everything at a single location! You can also book the equipment online. That way you save time when you get here. You can store the rented equipment free of charge in our ski depot. Ski rental website: www.bergfink.de

How are groups assigned?

In the case of beginners, we assign groups according to age. In the case of advanced skiers, the participants ride in our practice terrain beforehand and are divided into respective groups according to age and skill level.

When and where are the groups assigned?

For group assignment, you should appear at the respective meeting point in good time before the course and ready to start to make sure we can begin the course on time. Kids in the green learning level meet in the practice terrain in front of the circus tent next to the green flag. Kids in the blue, red and black learning levels meet at the practice rope lift in the ski school terrain. Adults and snowboarders meet near the “Adults meeting point” and “Snowboard meeting point” signs.

Can I change groups during the course?

Our goal is to challenge our participants but not overstrain them. This is why we attach great importance to proper and precise assignment to the different groups. If a participant nevertheless feels overstrained or underchallenged, he or she may of course change groups after consultation with ski school management.

I would like to be in the same group with my friend. Is that possible?

We try to fulfil all the wishes of our customers. Please let the group assignment coordinator know of your request and ride together one after the other during the assessment. If there should be any differences in age or skill level, the older participant would need to go to a younger group or the person with the better skills to a weaker group.

Where do I meet my private instructor?

The meeting point for private lessons is right across from the snack bar between our ski school office and the practice terrain. It is marked with a sign “Private lessons meeting point”.

Where do I find my ski instructor on the next day of the course?

Courses always begin and end in the practice terrain. The ski instructor will inform you or your parents of the exact meeting point.

What is the minimum age for kids to participate in a ski or snowboard course?

Kids 3 years of age and up can participate in ski courses. We offer a trial day for kids who are 3 and 4 years old. This means that you make a booking for one day and at the end of the day you can pay the difference for the requested number of course days. That way, you do not incur any additional costs and your child gets the opportunity to try out the ski course.

For kids 2 to 3 years old, we offer a Bambini course daily from 12.00 to 13.00. The equipment is included in the price in this case and a maximum of 2 to 3 children are assigned to a ski instructor. The focus here is not to learn how to brake perfectly using the snowplough or how to make a turn, but rather show your kids some joy and fun in the snow.

As far as snowboards are concerned, your children can participate if they are 8 years or older. For cool kids ages 6 and 7, private instructors are available who adapt to their special needs.

I would like to extend the course. Is that possible?

Courses can be extended with a sufficient number of participants. If you make a booking for at least 3 days, you will receive each additional day at a reduced price.

I am participating in a multi-day course; can I miss a day and then make it up?

The course days booked must be completed one after the other. If you take a break or miss a day, you cannot make up that day.

How many people take part in a group course?

Our goal is to have 8 participants per group. Especially during holiday periods, this goal cannot be 100% guaranteed.

What happens if not enough participants are interested in a group course?

With a reduced number of participants, the course times are shortened as follows:
2-3 persons 2 hours
For 4 or more people, the normally booked course hours will apply.

Is the ski pass included in the price?

No, you must buy the ski pass before the beginning of the course. Here is an overview of the different ski passes available: Hindelang Oberjoch mountain lifts. We will be happy to recommend the best card for you at our office. The ski pass can be purchased at the Schwanden mountain lift right next to our practice terrain. Find out beforehand if your booked accommodations include “Bad Hindelang+”. If so, the ski pass is included in the price of your stay. You can find more information here: Bad Hindelang ski pass.

Do I need a ski pass if I am a beginner?

No. Use of the practice terrain belonging to the ski school is free of charge for course participants. You will need a ski pass as soon as your group leaves the practice terrain and completes the first lift ride. Your ski instructor will let you know about this in good time.

I am late, now what?

We will try our best to add you to the appropriate group course, but the time lost cannot be made up. In general though, we cannot guarantee that we can make this work. Even if you have booked a private course, the time cannot be made up.

I have booked a course, but cannot participate due to illness or an injury.

In this case, you can cancel the group course free of charge. Please let us know of your cancellation in good time. Private lessons must be cancelled 24 hours before, otherwise a cancellation fee of 50% is charged.

What do I need to do if I get injured or become ill during the course?

If you present a medical certificate, you will receive credit for the course days which you didn’t attend.

Which languages do the ski instructors speak?

The group courses are usually conducted in German. Yet most instructors also speak English and can conduct the lesson bilingually.

Are there any special offers available for school classes or larger tour groups?

Simply contact our ski school office. We will be happy to provide you with an individual offer.

What else do I need to know about?

The equipment of all participants, and above all children, should include a helmet, ski goggles and gloves. Use of a back protector is also highly recommended. You can rent or buy the appropriate equipment in our shop. Due to the high UV exposure in the mountains, you should apply sun protection, even in cloudy weather.
